Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring quality care to clients by developing, implementing and directing mental health treatment programs, with adherence to all regulatory, compliance, accreditation, and legal issues. Promote a safe environment for all employees, patients, and visitors. Responsible for maintaining compliance with the Joint Commission standards, HIPAA Rules and Regulations. This position has clinical authority, and ensures compliance requirements are met, adheres to program guidelines, and develop, manages and monitors programs for compliance with established standards. Develops and provides related education to staff. Complies with state, federal and Joint Commission standards relating to infection control.
Position Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, required
LISW-S or LPCC-S in Ohio required,
Four years of Behavioral Health experience, required
In-depth knowledge of psychotherapy methods and available community resources
Understanding of resiliency and recovery in mental illness and substance abuse, and treatment approaches and techniques.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervises the following positions: Social Work Directors and Social work Staff
Key Responsibilities / Job Accountabilities:
- Complete diagnostic assessment upon admission to new programs
- Direct and oversee program operations, including budget management, developing marketing plans and independent decision making for program requiring clinical expertise
- Provide clinical consultation, oversight of case planning, care coordination and supervision to the staff.
- Responsible for limited case load as needed.
- Develop, plan, and implement program goals, objectives, personnel, resources and equipment.
- Ensure that services are focused on the clients presenting problem and request for services.
- Montior meetings, as well as admission, continued stay and discharge criteria.
- Provide clinical direction and leadership.
- Direct crisis intervention efforts and intervene as required.
- Provide health education to clients, staff and practitioners within area of specialty. Develops, implement and promote specified health education to the general campus community as appropriate.
- Responsible for hiring social services staff.
- Review caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services.
- Advise department managers in the area of policy and procedure development relative to the applicable standards.
- Orientation of new social services team members.
Additional Skills / Qualifications:
- Conduct learning needs assessments
- Develop and implement social services policies for the clinic/hospital
- Ensure that operations conform to established environmental, safety, and infection control requirements.
- Participate in the development and review of best practice guidelines
- Participate in quality improvement activities and organizational accreditation processes
- Participate in relevant committees, councils, and other activities, as appropriate
- Participates in performance improvement and health equity projects.
- Assist leadership in developing educational programs to support individual learning plans
- Perform assessments of individual team members, as requested by leadership
- Assists with education and training for all employees for all programs required by regulatory bodies.
- Serves as Patient Advocate. Oversees collection and reporting of patient satisfaction data.
