General Purpose of Job/Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our Ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Keeping. Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting software.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable as needed.
  • Expense Tracking.
    1. Track and categorize all practice-related expenses, ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
    2. Gather credit card receipts on a weekly basis and code the weekly credit card report.
    3. Pay clinical trial subject stipends and expense reimbursements.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Filing of documents and maintaining a well-organized system.
  • Other essential accounting functions as assigned by the accounting management team.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in accounting or financial roles is a plus.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, vendors, and practice management.
  • Integrity and the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
