Job DescriptionJob Description

The Disbursement Clerk assists with the accurate and timely disbursement of all case settlements.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process disbursement requests and ensure accuracy and completeness of all supporting documents.
  • Verify and reconcile all amounts in the database value tab for each client.
  • Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of funds.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all disbursements and related documentation.
  • Identify and verify all private and government health insurance subrogation's, including Medicaid, Medicare, Tri-Care, Culinary, etc.
  • Identify all referral sources.
  • Calculate and prepare all requests for reductions.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal, writing, and listening skills.
  • Highly efficient and organized.
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Two years experience in handling disbursement and accounting tasks for a law firm
