The Design Manager will work with a team of Designers and report directly to the branch GM.

Job Summary


As aDesign Manager (NICET IV), you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the design and implementation of fire protection systems. Your expertise will ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage design projects, and contribute to the successful execution of fire protection initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • System Design and Planning: Lead the design process for fire alarm, sprinkler, and other fire protection systems.
  • Develop detailed plans, schematics, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to create efficient and effective designs.
  • Code Compliance and Review: Ensure designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA, local building codes).
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design documents to identify any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
  • Project Management: Manage design projects from inception to completion.
  • Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior designers and team members.
  • Troubleshoot design-related challenges.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Oversee system testing, commissioning, and acceptance.
  • Ensure designs meet performance expectations and safety requirements.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients, architects, and regulatory authorities.
  • Address client concerns, provide design recommendations, and manage expectations.


Qualifications

  • NICET Level IV Certification
  • Proven experience in fire protection system design and management.
  • Strong knowledge of fire codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
