DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Grants Specialist position requires an experienced, reliable, and task-oriented individual who will oversee and manage all phases of the grant agreement and award process. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with grant regulations and to support the successful implementation of grant-funded projects. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrate relevant employment experience in cooperative agreement or grant management, preferably with federal grant regulations.
  • Review federal solicitations, implementation planning, business management, budget development, report preparation, application renewal, and the initiation of close-outs.
  • Strategize and identify stakeholder project needs, set work priorities, develop work plans, and negotiate budgets.
  • Advise, interpret, and communicate applicable laws, statutes, regulations, criteria, policies, and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review reporting documents and evaluate budget justification to ensure compliance with administrative and fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Utilize Grants.gov web-based application review module to independently evaluate and score submissions.
  • Implement best practices to refine the grants program, continually monitoring grantee/project progress, and assure adherence to internal policies
  • Possess the ability to understand verbal and written instructions, discuss and clarify instructions, and use proper punctuation and grammar.
  • Experience with drafting materials and correspondence reports, and other administrative tasks.
  • Extensive written and verbal communication including good responsiveness to co-workers and clients and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, various Webinar platforms, such as Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • A consistent demonstration of professionalism, fairness, cooperation, and respect toward clients and coworkers.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and priorities while maintaining organization and attention to detail.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Must have 5-8 years of experience. (government experience preferred)
  • Must have management and analysis skills.
  • Must have excellent organization, oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently.
  • Must have knowledge and ability to use various software tools.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
