We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Store Manager at Akin Building Centers in Atlantic, IA. As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring customer satisfaction, and leading a team of dedicated employees. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall performance and profitability of the store.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement necessary changes to optimize store operations.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure products are well-stocked and properly displayed.
  • Train, motivate, and lead a diverse team of employees to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales goals.
  • Create a positive and professional work environment, fostering teamwork and open communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to evaluate store performance and implement necessary improvements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Store Manager or similar role in the retail industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle customer complaints and resolve issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of building materials and related products.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Achievement-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering results.
  • Sound understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
  • Flexibility to work throughout the week during open hours and weekends as necessary.
  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
