Role Description:

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will play a critical role in revitalizing the reliability and equipment performance of our high-purity chemicals plant. The incumbent will lead a team consisting of maintenance technicians, third-party contractors, process engineers, and project engineers. The primary focus will be on enhancing equipment reliability, improving efficiency, addressing critical infrastructure deficiencies, streamlining project management processes, and collaborating with other departments to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, third-party contractors, process engineers, and project engineers. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the maintenance and engineering team.
  • Reliability and Performance Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance equipment reliability and overall plant performance. Conduct regular assessments of equipment and systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Efficiency Enhancement: Drive initiatives to improve the efficiency of plant operations and reduce downtime. Collaborate with the operations team to optimize processes and enhance overall productivity.
  • Infrastructure Overhaul: Identify and address critical infrastructure deficiencies to ensure the plant operates at peak performance. Implement proactive maintenance programs to extend the life of equipment and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Project Management Process Overhaul: Revise and enhance project management processes to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of projects. Implement best practices for project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the operations and continuous improvement departments to drive improvements in targeted processes. Foster strong communication and collaboration with other departments to achieve overall plant objectives.
  • Process Safety Management (PSM): Restore site PSM performance to benchmark standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance and engineering leadership role within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in reliability engineering, project management, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with high-purity chemical production processes is a plus.
