We are searching for a nurturing Teacher to ensure that the basic and educational needs of our students are met. As a Floating Teacher, you will be required to prepare and deliver classroom activities, communicate with staff and parents, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. You should also be an excellent role model for our students.

To be successful as a Teacher, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression. Top candidates will possess a thorough understanding of the contextual factors that shape early childhood development.

Responsibilities for Teacher

  • Planning and delivering curriculum designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral reinforcement.
  • Modeling appropriate behaviors
  • Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
  • Building secure relationships with the children.
  • Document daily events in SmartCare for parents.
  • Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day should the need arise.
  • Attending parent and staff meetings.
  • Adapting the program to suit the needs of the individual child or group.
  • Potty Training and any diapering

Qualifications for Teacher

  • Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • High school diploma
  • CDA (Child Development Associate - Recommended)
  • Caring, patient, nurturing and passionate individual who enjoys teaching young children
  • Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents
  • CPR/ First Aid and Food Handlers (attainable after hire)

Expectations for Teacher

  • Follow all licensing and CCQS requirements
  • Teaching basic skills such as color, shape, numbers, and letter recognition
  • Planning and carrying out curriculum
  • Helping children develop positive self-images and experience success
  • Encouraging the exploration of interests and developmental social skills
  • Developing schedules and routines ensuring physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Teaching children how to play fairly with others
  • Positive redirection and positive reinforcement tied to behaviors
  • Observing, assessing, and documenting each assigned child's health, skills, behavior, growth, and development
  • Optimizing children's developmental, intellectual, and social achievements in class activities
  • Providing leadership and guidance to other staff and colleagues
  • Creating and leading a supportive, nurturing learning environment that encourages responsibility and motivation
  • Align with company's Core Values (Family First, Growth Mindset, Positive Attitude, Ownership, Excellence)
  • Moving classrooms at a short notice if needed
  • Any other duties your management deems necessary
