TWE is continuing to expand successfully, and therefore we are seeking and energetic, and hands-on Production Supervisor for our Schertz, TX, Facility. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Coordinates and supervises the daily and weekly activities that occur on assigned shifts; provides leadership, motivation, training, and development of our workforce; executes against customer/site requirements; participates in continuous improvement activities as part of the site management team and ensures company policies are followed, and site develops positive work culture.

Requirements:

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Insure the application of an effective program in the area of Safety, training, two-way communication, employee health and welfare, housekeeping, and proper job performance.
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture by ensuring activities such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S are completed effectively as assigned.
  • Schedule team members to ensure product is produced on time to the production schedule. Escalate abnormalities to appropriate resources and leadership as designated by your manager.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure that on-going process of continuous quality improvement is maintained.
  • Coordinate all assigned autonomous maintenance activities for team members. Review work content and continuously improve the process to positively impact equipment OEE>
  • Support inventory control program to insure lowest possible inventory expense, on-hand availability of all raw material and reduce space allocation inventory storage.
  • Maintain liaison with other plant functions and use all other available means to keep fully informed of developments in the area of new and improved machinery, materials and techniques.
  • Provide and interpret for management, accurate and timely reports on operations of the plant
  • Develop and recommend standards in the areas of manpower requirements, volume, and priority of work and cost expenditures for the production, maintenance, and shipping departments.
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Nonwovens experience preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work a 12-hour shift.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good interpersonal, teambuilding and leadership skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and documents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.


COMPUTER/MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, email, and spreadsheets. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, while using safe lifting practices.


The employee must be able to climb ladders. Ability to work 12 hour shifts every other weekend with when business demands warrant a 24-7 continuous operation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must not wear any loose-fitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to seasonal related heat and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


The employee must wear clothing consistent with the Vita Nonwovens dress code policy. The employee is occasionally exposed to seasonal related heat and cold.
