Would you like to work for a growing company? We'd like to talk with you about an exciting opportunity as a medical scribe in our office. Work side by side with great orthopedic surgeons and document the clinical visit in orthopedic specific electronic medical records.

Michigan Orthopedic Center is seeking a part-time Medical Scribe who thrives in a highly specialized, fast-paced clinical practice.

Within 45 days of hire, Medical Scribe is expected to:

  • Understand and appropriately document medical procedures and diagnosis codes
  • Independently support the provider by capturing accurate and timely medical information
  • Perform chart preparation within electronic health record (EHR) to facilitate efficient patient visit
  • Demonstrate efficiency in data entry through utilization of technology
  • Input physical exam findings and plan of care recommendations into electronic health record with 80% completion of medical records during clinic day
  • Utilize organizational skills to efficiently enter health information via EHR
  • Create grammatically accurate reports
  • Assist with injections, suture removal, and other in-office procedures
  • Comply with all OSHA, HIPAA and regulatory requirements
  • Pave the way for providers and patients to have a successful, patient focused experience

Applicants are required to have successfully completed formal training as a Medical Scribe or Medical Assistant with certification. Prior experience with EHR required. Experience in orthopedics also preferred. The ideal candidate represents the practice in a professional, service-oriented manner that supports the overall mission of the practice.

Michigan Orthopedic Center is a multi-physician surgical practice serving mid-Michigan since 1990. We are committed to providing state-of-the art, high quality orthopedic care and professional, compassionate patient experience. Our subspecialty fellowship trained surgeons treat complex orthopedic surgical issues including joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder, foot and ankle surgery, fracture surgery, spinal surgery and sports medicine.

  • Day Shift, Monday to Friday

Job Type:

  • Part-time, expected hours: up to 20 per week

Pay:

  • $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent
  • Formal Training as Medical Scribe or Medical Assistant (Required)

Experience:

  • Typing: 1 year (Required)
  • Medical terminology: 1 year (Required)
  • EHR: 1 year (Required)
  • Orthopedics medical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
