The Store Manager at Montana Supply is a salary exempt full-time year-round employee who is responsible for leading a team of Sales Associates & Shift Leads while maintaining store functions, standards and policies.


What we expect


Hire, train, maintain and motivate the Sales Team

  • Hire and onboard each team member via BambooHR Hiring
  • Communicate with Housing Manager regarding room assignments for team members that need housing
  • Train and provide ongoing education for employees by identifying training gaps and utilizing downtime as trainable moments
  • Create employee schedules 30 days in advance, manage time off requests, assign schedules and responsibilities
  • Suggest promotions for team members when available
  • Approve timesheets and submit commission reports to Payroll
  • Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is sincere and efficient
  • Schedule and conduct weekly shift lead meetings
  • Schedule and conduct one-on-ones with direct reports every other week - for new team members these should be weekly for the first 4 weeks
  • Meet with Ownership once per week to discuss opportunities, challenges and any other items that come up
  • Maintain exceptional record keeping in BambooHR of direct reports
  • Forecast staffing needs and work with Ownership to develop a recruiting strategy

Maintain daily operations to optimize store function

  • Actively seek out feedback from the Sales Team regarding their experience, customer experience and operations improvements
  • Check for and fix general maintenance issues - change lightbulbs, clean windows, maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, etc
  • Handle all warranties & RA's
  • Work with Visual Merchandiser and Shipping/Receiving Director to ensure online orders are shipped and product is received, placed and back-stocked according to store standards.
  • Rotate product on the sales floor to ensure optimal sell-through
  • Manage all markdowns based upon markdown procedure and directive from the purchasing team
  • Check stock levels of essential operations supplies and request and/or place orders as needed
  • Participate in monthly meetings with Inventory Analyst

Develop Professional Skills:

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Identify personal areas of improvement and seek out feedback from more experienced personnel and other professional resources
  • Work with Ownership to create performance goals and strategies to attain goals

Salary Range:

  • 60-80K per year based upon experience and performance
  • Quarterly Bonus earnings

Requirements

  • 5 years of retail experience
  • 3 years of leading a team of 5 or more
  • Positive professional references
