Aquatic Resource Restoration Company is an environmental construction company based in York, PA. Our highly skilled and expert personnel provide a multitude of comprehensive stream, wetland and floodplain restoration services throughout the mid-Atlantic region, with a specialized focus on the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
JOB OVERVIEW:
ARRC is looking for a full-time, hard-working, and responsible individual to lead our landscape crew as a Foreman. In this role you will be responsible for leading and assisting the landscape crew with the installation of matting, trees, shrubs, bio engineering materials and stabilization of our stream restoration and planting projects. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Effectively leads, manages, and motivates a crew of 3-6; while performing your own job duties
- Assigns daily crew tasks and leads them in a productive manner
- Serves as a mentor to all new hires
- Interprets blueprints, project plans and specifications for job layout
- Plans and schedules with Operations for necessary manpower, tools, materials and equipment needed to complete the job
- Accountable for ensuring that work completed meets and/or exceeds company standards
- Ensures a timely response to any safety related issues or needs on the job site
- Effectively resolves problems with projects, materials and workers as they arise
- Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs and reports
- Ensures construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned trucks & equipment; reporting all issues/repairs to Equipment Department
- Installs sediment control and stabilization measures, planting trees and shrubs, and installing erosion control matting
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all construction site safety rules and procedures
- Safely operates equipment and a variety of hand tools
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior landscaping and supervisory experience; preferably 2-3 years
- Experience working on stream restoration is a plus
- Must be able to operate a skid steer, dingo, truck/trailer, etc.
- Effectively reads drawings and interprets specifications
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and meet necessary deadlines
- Must have a valid driver's license; with a clean driving record
- Should have the ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and carry up to 100 pounds
- Must follow all company rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, etc.
