Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Healthcare Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will analyze healthcare data to support decision-making and improve patient care, operational efficiency, and financial performance. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, administrators, and IT teams to collect, interpret, and report on healthcare data trends and metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Analyze complex healthcare data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive decision-making and strategy.
- Reporting: Develop and present detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Data Management: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of healthcare data. Assist in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Collaboration: Work with clinical and administrative staff to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights to improve processes and outcomes.
- Performance Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and data privacy laws, including HIPAA and other relevant standards.
- Project Management: Lead or participate in projects related to data analysis, system implementation, and process optimization.
- Training: Provide training and support to staff on data-related tools and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or advanced certification is a plus.
- Experience: Experience in healthcare analytics or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, R, Python).
- Experience with healthcare databases and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and present findings in a clear, actionable manner.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present data insights to diverse audiences.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Knowledge of Healthcare Regulations: Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with advanced statistical analysis and modeling.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and best practices.
- Certification in healthcare analytics (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA)).
