Job Overview:
As a cashier, you will be responsible for processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. You will handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, issue receipts, and assist customers with inquiries or concerns.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Transactions: Ring up purchases, handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the cashier area clean and organized, including the register and surrounding space.
  • Stocking Shelves: Assist with restocking merchandise when necessary, ensuring shelves are neat and well-maintained.
  • Handle Returns and Exchanges: Process returns and exchanges according to company policies, resolving any issues promptly.
  • Promote Sales: Inform customers of promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs to encourage sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Balancing Cash Register: Balance cash register at the end of each shift and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Follow Procedures: Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Report Incidents: Report any suspicious activity or incidents to management immediately.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).
