Job SummaryThe Dock & Door Technician is responsible for the repair, servicing, inspection, diagnosing, maintaining and maintenance of warehouse, industrial and/or commercial doors; loading docks; levelers; and other related warehouse equipment.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be capable of being hands-on and digging into the details of a job to understand our customers’ needs. Willingness to expand and cross train in other areas of the business.·
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain a variety of different warehouse equipment, mechanisms, mechanical systems, and electrical circuits. May include but not limited to: Commercial doors (i.e., high-speed, overhead, etc.); Loading docks (i.e., levelers, bumpers, seals, etc.); and general warehouse equipment (i.e., bailers, compactors, pallet racking, etc.).
  • Perform hazard assessments and maintain a high standard of safe work practices and quality control. Comply and follow all company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines, all while working in a responsible manner. This includes avoiding injuries and damage to property and completing all necessary company trainings.· Safely operate a company issued vehicle by maintaining a clean driving record, obeying traffic laws. Ensure the company vehicle is satisfactorily maintained and serviced in working order.·
  • Manage the work order paperwork (paper and digital) for each job in a timely manner. Ability to engage and communicate using various electronic platforms and devices.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Performance Measurements:·

A score card that reflects performance in areas such as safety, efficiency, work order completion, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.

· Exercises high degree of time management skill, resulting in greater than 85% time billable to customers.· Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness & ability to learn new skills and information.· Other key metrics prescribed by Concentric leadership, resulting in positive customer and Company impact.

Requirements:

· High School or GED Diploma required. Prefer an Associate Degree from an approved two-year college or university or very strong equivalent experience.

· A minimum of 3-year related experience in the repair and maintenance of: Warehouse and commercial doors; Loading docks; Dock-leveler’s; AED, Entrance Doors, Glass Doors and other related warehouse equipment

· Experience in welding, fabrication and electrical. Also, a working background in Mechanical, Commercial, and Industrial Maintenance.

· Must be able to pass a background check.

· Must be able to pass a drug test, our technicians are subject to random drug testing.

· Working knowledge of basic AC and DC electrical/electronic theory.

· Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.

· Ability to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision.

· Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices.

· Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.

· Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.

· Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization.

· Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.

· Experience in material handling environment is preferred, but not required.

· Intermittent travel expected within designated territory, home most nights.

· A valid driver’s license, CDL a plus but not required.

· Willingness to work occasional overtime & weekends.

  • Concentric Technicians may need to travel out of state to perform work. The Department of Transportation (DOT) has several requirements for drivers of commercial motor vehicles weighing less than 26,001 pounds who are driving across state lines, including:
  • Drivers must be at least 18 years old to drive "Intrastate". Drivers must be at least 21 years old to driver "Interstate".
  • Drivers must have a valid driver's license at all times.
  • Drivers must have a valid DOT medical card or the ability to obtain DOT medical card per DOT/FMCA guidelines during the hiring process. Drivers must continue to maintain their active medical card status throughout their employment.
  • Drivers must follow the DOT's HOS regulations.
  • Drivers must be able to obtain a CDL in order to drive commercial motor vehicles or combination vehicles weighing more than 26,000 lbs.
