Position: Director, Strategic Sourcing

The Director of Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities across the organization. This includes managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services at the best possible prices. In addition, the Procurement Director will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures that meet the organization's strategic goals and objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop procurement policies and procedures that support organizational goals and objectives
  • Manage the procurement process, including soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services
  • Oversee vendor relationships and monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to contract terms
  • Identify opportunities to leverage purchasing power and negotiate favorable contracts, payment terms and pricing with vendors
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop procurement strategies that support business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to procurement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply and quality of products
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to procurement staff to ensure high-quality work and professional development opportunities
  • Ensure the procurement process is transparent and well-documented
  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost savings
  • Grow and/or optimize the Company’s network of qualified suppliers to ensure that the Company has consistent access to the product it needs at the most competitive prices
  • Work with Sales teams and Finance to identify opportunities to mitigate financial risks and/or eliminate costs from sourcing and procurement activities
  • Drive rebates from suppliers and OEMs in support of Spencer business, track and measure, maximize return to Spencer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, including experience managing teams
  • Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Experience in procurement of technology both new and refurbished

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Ability to develop and implement procurement policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of procurement laws and regulations
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors
