VP/SVP of Finance

Location: Medway, Massachusetts

Reports to: EVP of Finance

Spencer Technologies is seeking a dynamic, hands on and experienced Vice President of Finance to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the EVP of Finance, the VP of Finance will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and driving the overall success of the company. This individual will lead the finance function, providing strategic guidance, financial oversight, and actionable insights to support business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on financial matters, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Oversee the FP&A function to drive informed decision-making and optimize financial performance. Lead the annual budgeting process, monthly/quarterly forecasting, and variance analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP standards. Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements, management reports, and board presentations. Communicate financial results, trends, and forecasts to stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and the board of directors.
  • Treasury Management: Manage the company's cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure. Develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital, manage debt, and mitigate financial risks. Oversee banking relationships, cash management, and investment activities.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, financial policies, and internal controls. Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk. Maintain a strong internal control environment and oversee internal and external audits.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the finance team. Build and develop a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting the company's growth and strategic objectives. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, with a track record of success in strategic financial planning, analysis, and management.
  • Oracle NetSuite experience is preferred.
  • International experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, deal structuring, and integration.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving change and delivering measurable business impact.
