POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Manufacturing Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of HYCO’s manufacturing plants and its employees. Develop and implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility. Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost
  • Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning
  • Review production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and hold employees accountable in meeting their goals
  • Champion the EHS, fulfillment, and Quality strategies for the plants
  • Successfully drive and maintain high morale, employee engagement, safety and teamwork
  • Monitor and improve productivity while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, high quality and compliant manner
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity for all production procedures
  • Utilize capital and expense budgets efficiently to support global business strategy
  • Promote a working environment that empowers and inspires employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service, quality, inventory and EHS
  • Lead and engage organization to achieve goals in asset utilization, process/manufacturing loss improvement, delivered quality and cost reduction
  • Coach and develop supervisors and leads to maximize their effectiveness
  • Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements
  • Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality
  • Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles in designing, specifying, and validating world-class manufacturing processes that achieve organizational goals
  • Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operational expenses within budget allowance, and investigate cost-reduction measures
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity, while reducing cost, scrap, and rework
  • Minimal travel is required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in operations management, business, engineering, or related field
  • Two years of ISO 9000 experience and shop floor/hands on experience.
  • Ten or more years of experience in plant operations or engineering
  • Proven skills in leadership and supervision
  • Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills, conflict resolution, supervisory and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership, new product production planning, process improvement, and project management experience
  • Performance management, scheduling, computer and statistical analysis skills are a plus
  • Experience in international business operations is preferred
