Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. This position will work with all grades K-8, ensuring all students receive a high-quality ELA education aligned with our school's mission and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive, standards-based ELA curriculum that incorporates reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary instruction, aligned with school standards and gospel principles.
  • Instruction: Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to small groups of students across various grade levels, utilizing various teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Assessment: Utilize a variety of assessment tools to monitor student progress in reading, writing, and language skills, identify areas of need, and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Leadership: Oversee teacher aides, providing guidance, support, and lesson planning assistance in ELA instruction.
  • Collaboration: Partner with other teachers and administrators to create a cohesive learning environment that supports the whole child, integrating ELA instruction with other subjects and school activities.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (English, Linguistics, etc.)
  • Current teaching certification in Elementary Education or English Language Arts
  • Current IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Demonstrated experience teaching ELA to elementary students
  • Strong understanding of child development, literacy development, and learning theories
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
  • Passion for working with children and a commitment to their academic and spiritual growth
