Position Summary:
- Directly supervises and manages skilled workers at different levels of competency in fitting, welding and machine operation.
- Coordinate required materials with planning and warehouse teams to maintain production flow and meet production goals.
- Responsible for driving employee engagement levels while maintaining quality standards.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Develops and maintains a zero accident culture of safety.
- Enforces company policies and procedures as outlined.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Carries out the responsibilities of the quality assurance program.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Verify quality at the source.
- Continuous improvement activity to achieve set KPIs
- May be required to travel to customer job site to inspect, evaluate and repair equipment not performing to expectations
- A strong understanding of AWS procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises 25 to 35 employees in the Frame shop on a multiple shift operation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education: Four year college, university or accredited technical school program certificate; or five plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge: Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Knowledge of layout, fitting and welding practices and procedures.
Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Continuous Improvement
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be a certified welder.
- Must have a working knowledge of material handling equipment and rigging to load and move various pieces of equipment.
- Good time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Ability and credentials to test and certify employees for welding.
