Custodian Lead

It is the responsibility of the Custodian Lead to lead and coordinate the work of Custodian positions in commercial cleaning the buildings of Destiny Church and Destiny Christian Academy. The Custodian Lead ensures that assigned duties are completed and done well within the area assigned.
Requirements:RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Train, instruct, and direct the custodial personnel.
- Works cooperatively with the custodial personnel.
- Oversee the work of custodial personnel.
- Monitors other Custodians’ performance and provides feedback to Facilities Director.
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing, and sanitizing floors, walls, furniture, and equipment.
- Removing garbage, emptying trash receptacles, and disposing of trash in dumpsters.
- Restocking paper, soap, and other disposable supplies.
- Commercial cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, including scrubbing, and supplying facilities.
- Washing windows, mirrors, and partitions.
- Maintaining a thorough inventory of commercial cleaning and maintenance supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.
- Experience with using commercial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and commercial cleaning solutions.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
- Communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work at particular heights.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position’s duties are normally performed in a standard work environment based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort is required; therefore, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. He or she may be required to walk or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other similar machines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are dynamic. This requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. The employee will be using his or her personal vehicle; therefore, he or she must hold a valid driver’s license in the state where he or she is based and have appropriate auto insurance as required by law. The employee needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work assignments, and do well under pressure. He or she must also demonstrate professionalism and integrity, take initiative, and exercise confidentiality. Finally, the employee must understand and apply all school policies and procedures, follow instructions, be detailed oriented, and have good follow-through on all projects.
