The key responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager include but are not limited to:
To assist Project Managers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner.
This position is based in the home office and requires, at minimum, to adhere to the standard office hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily. However, there could be travel, on occasion, to the projects, with possible overnight stays.
The Assistant Project Manager must understand and be able to use MS Excel, MS Project Schedule, MS Word and all aspects of our Project Management system, SCPC.
Duties for the Assistant Project Manager will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in gathering pricing for prospective projects. This includes seeking a minimum of (3) prices and understanding the best comparable price.
- Maintain the Master Bidders list.
- File received bids.
- Review bids to see that they follow the plans and specs. Report discrepancies to PM.
- Attend the kick off meeting of the project with the DI Construction team.
- Attend a weekly meeting with the PM and management.
- Assist the PM in creating the Scope of Work for each subcontract.
- Assist the PM in finalizing the cost and terms of Purchase Orders as directed by the Project Manager
- Assist the Superintendent and PM with locating rental equipment and small tools as needed.
- Assist the Superintendent in ordering miscellaneous small tools and materials.
- When directed assist in preparing RFIs, preparing change orders and finding any additional materials needed for a project as well as assisting in finding replacement subcontractors.
- Assist the Admin in maintaining submittal logs and RFI logs.
- Review submittals as directed by the PM. Ensuring that any submittal that is reviewed is then routed appropriately and tracked.
- Working with the jobsite superintendent to prepare the Weekly Owner Report.
- Work with the PM and the Admin on each project to manage the project each day through use of reports through Sage. Keeping management, PM and admin updated as necessary.
- Assist the Admin in preparing close out documents that will go to Owner.
- Attend the post project review meeting as each project is completed.
