Location: Onsite, Hillside, IL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week
Payrate: $20/hr
Job-Type: 3-month contract w/ opportunity for conversion
The Risk Management Specialist is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of our partner’s workers’ compensation claims. This individual will actively manage claims activities, ensuring efficient processing and resolution. They will also maintain regular communication with carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), medical providers, and other branches to facilitate timely claim adjudication and compliance. The Risk Management Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining clear communication, accurate documentation, and ensuring all claims are managed in line with company policies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track claims activity, working closely with carriers and TPAs to ensure efficient processing and appropriate adjudication of workers' compensation claims.
- Collaborate with medical providers to obtain and follow up on work status reports, ensuring up-to-date information on employees' medical conditions and work capabilities.
- Schedule and coordinate periodic claims reviews with carriers, brokers, and legal teams, and prepare supporting documentation for these meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of claims, communications, and other related documents; prepare and distribute comprehensive reports summarizing claims data, trends, and potential issues.
- Analyze, investigate, and assess losses to determine coverage and claim resolution, providing necessary information to management and underwriting teams.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, statutory regulations, and ethical guidelines when managing claims.
- Provide general administrative support related to workers' compensation claims, including data entry, filing, and handling correspondence.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned and support the team in managing additional responsibilities as they arise.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required. Associate’s degree in business administration, or related fields, preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in data-entry
- Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This work environment is an office setting where work is performed sitting at a desk. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but can become louder based on the volume of incoming candidates. When traveling to client sites, the work environment is a light industrial/manufacturing setting which often times can be a louder, cold, and dusty environment.
