Job Description:

Colden has an immediate opening for a full-time Safety and Health Specialist position supporting a key client at a high-tech manufacturing facility located near Burlington, Vermont.

The selected candidate will work as part of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team to support the site and Northeast Region EHS programs and initiatives. The Safety and Health Specialist will be provided with formal instruction on the site and job responsibilities as part of onboarding, along with ongoing on-the-job training and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct workplace safety inspections and safety and health program evaluations.
  • Complete job hazard assessments and support pre-task safety planning.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly tracking and reporting for safety and health metrics as assigned, and support investigation and follow-up actions for reported hazards, near misses, or incidents.
  • Support industrial hygiene exposure assessments, surveys, and other monitoring, as directed.
  • Review and update safety and health program documents and maintain required records.
  • Coordinate or deliver safety training such as contractor safety orientation sessions.
  • Communicate safety and health policies and work effectively with facility personnel and contractors.
  • Assist EHS team in supporting other initiatives for the site or Northeast Region, as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, construction safety, environmental health, or a related science or engineering field
  • Experience range: 0 to 5 years
  • Fluency in the English Language (written and oral)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well in individual and team settings
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented individual

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with U.S. OSHA regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
