Purpose Statement:
Supervisor is responsible for clearly communicating the production process, safety, quality, housekeeping, rate and cost goals, and expectations of the department to the team, coach & mentor the production associates, motivate the team to reach higher and solve problems to achieve the business objectives. This position works in a team environment to accomplish the common goal of producing, assembling and distribution of product. The Supervisor will be responsible for performing and overseeing multiple disciplines within their team including, verify the correct quantities of components and quality check completed items, manage parts inventory, shipping and receiving, and use hand tools and mechanical equipment to produce structurally sound products that are functional and beautiful. The Supervisor must be dependable, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work at a fast pace. They will not accept the status quo and constantly look for ways to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enforce and follow all company policies while continuously encouraging a culture of ownership, accountability, and a sense of urgency with all employees.
- Ensure NetSuite transfers and work order completions are completed correctly and daily prior to the end of each shift.
- Maintain weekly productivity metrics for each employee to track and ensure expected productivity is achieved.
- Work with Management to review and enforce the Attendance policy, daily.
- Ensure the shift turnover is correctly done at the beginning of each shift to ensure the process of all orders are on time.
- Ensure the production floor is clean and organized at all times with an emphasis on work cell safety.
- Ensure employees’ annual reviews are completed during the month they are due. This includes the employee self-review.
- Works with various departments daily to ensure continuous improvement.
- Assigning workers production line tasks.
- Evaluating incoming orders and setting up the production line accordingly.
- Optimizing production line efficiency by monitoring productivity and quality.
- Identifying and resolving production line problems in a timely manner.
- Performing recordkeeping tasks, including inventory management and order tracking.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure that orders are completed on time.
- Maintaining a fully operational, safe, and tidy work environment.
- Effectively communicates as required with team members, other supervisors, and managers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders.
- Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy or quality standards for the work performed.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
- Ability to speak and read English.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and Slack).
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle, NetSuite (preferred)
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, reach above and below the shoulders, squat, bend and kneel as necessary to perform the job.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Requires the ability to work effectively with various departments.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers.
- Must be deadline oriented and have the ability to prioritize work.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Must be able to focus on a high activity environment.
- Must be able to tolerate working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to accurately follow specific instructions for multiple detailed assembly processes.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to work flexible hours depending on business demands.
Preferred
- 2 Years experience in manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual English – Spanish
- Must have the ability to train other team members.
- Problem solving skills.
- Critical thinking.
Education
- BA or BS degree, High School Diploma, GED. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.
