Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Director of Admissions for the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. The selected candidate will be responsible for the formulation and execution of a comprehensive plan to attract Juris Doctor (J.D.) students to the law school. In addition to supervising all Admissions Office activities and personnel, the candidate selected will represent the law school at recruitment fairs, forums, and panels, counsel students regarding the admissions process, and develop and implement strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective students. This person reports directly to the Dean of the law school. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a full-time (40+ hours per week), 12-month position

Summary of Duties:

  • Responsible for the selection, motivation, observation and evaluation of departmental personnel
  • Serve as a liaison with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC)
  • Review and process student applicant files
  • Contact and counsel prospective students; visit colleges and universities to recruit prospective students
  • Attend recruiting events such as law school forums hosted by LSAC and university graduate school fairs
  • Forge and maintain relationships with pre-law advisors, college professors, and other influencers who may refer prospective students to the law school
  • Utilize the LSAC Unite Platform ("LSAC Unite") and other LSAC services to identify and recruit prospects and communicate with prospective and admitted students
  • Assist in maintaining the law school's website and social media presence; develop promotional, recruiting materials and communications for the law school
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of tours and on-campus events; assist with new student orientation
  • Ability to travel during the recruitment cycle, including overnight, evening and weekend work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required; J.D. from an ABA-approved law school preferred
  • Prior experience with J.D. recruiting and admissions at an ABA-approved law school preferred; other experience in higher education administration will be considered
  • Experience working with quantitative data, social media platforms, and LSAC Unite preferred
  • Active member of the church of Christ
