The Three Rivers Educational Partnership (TREP) is a non-profit organization established in 1993 with a mission to bridge the gap between education and local business needs. It serves as a vital link connecting community schools with regional employers to enhance teaching and learning experiences. TREP's primary focus is on fostering relevance in education by preparing students for careers in manufacturing, science, technology, engineering, and applied sciences (STEM). By engaging both educators and business professionals on its board of directors, TREP facilitates collaborative efforts to create awareness of career opportunities aligned with local economic development. Ultimately, TREP aims to strengthen communities by aligning educational outcomes with workforce demands, thereby enhancing the overall quality of education and promoting regional prosperity.

We are seeking a Program Manager to implement the objectives of the Three Rivers Education Partnership. The Program Manager assists in preparing students for future workforce needs, especially in the manufacturing sector, by enhancing students' learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

  • Link the local Will and Grundy County business community with elementary and high school students and educators by proposing, developing, coordinating, and implementing quality school initiatives that are value added to TREP members.
  • Assist in making students’ STEM educational experiences relevant to the job market by implementing student and educator programs. These student programs include promoting business participation in student career fairs and facilitating career presentations to students.
  • Enhance educator professional development in the STEM areas by facilitating educator tours of local companies; developing, teaching and/or coordinating continuing education courses; and composing workforce informational presentations and other materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local schools and businesses. Develop and foster relationships with educators and business leaders/contacts.
  • Continuously analyze recent education trends and manufacturing workforce studies and statistics to identify and document the workforce trends, needs, and skill sets required of the local business community. Collaborate with educators and TREP members to identify these workforce needs.
  • Ensure adequate resources and sources of revenue are obtained to support the initiatives with a goal to make TREP self-sustaining. This includes soliciting membership dues from businesses and educators, seeking business sponsorship of specific programs, partnering with organizations to provide free services, and creating other fundraising events.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the TREP Board. Monitor TREP’s financial position and ensure all programs progress on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
  • Coordinate the design, development, and updates of TREP program and promotional materials, including the TREP Web pages.
  • Serve as the staff contact for the TREP Board of Directors.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years of education and business-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Interpersonal Skills:

Resourceful, creative, and ability to foster business relationships. Team player adept at leveraging different personality styles. Adaptable to change with a pro-active approach to problem solving.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and other complex documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community. Ability to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
