The Echo Tech is responsible for performing echocardiograms (echos) on patients of all ages. Echos are a type of ultrasound that uses sound waves to create images of the heart and its valves. The Echo Tech will be responsible for preparing the patient for the exam, positioning them correctly, and operating the echo machine. The Echo Tech will also be responsible for interpreting the images and reporting the results to the physician.



The ideal candidate will have a formal education in Sonography or a related field. They will also have ARDMS (RVT), ARRT (VS) or CCI (RVS) registration. The candidate will have experience in performing echocardiograms and be proficient in the use of echo machines. They will also be able to work independently and as part of a team.



The Echo Tech will be responsible for the following duties:



  • Preparing patients for echocardiograms
  • Positioning patients correctly for the exam
  • Operating the echo machine
  • Interpreting the images and reporting the results to the physician
  • Maintaining the equipment
  • Documenting patient care


The Echo Tech will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to work independently and as part of a team. They will also be required to work some evenings and weekends.
