The Cortex Customer Success team works directly with our customers to define outcomes and deliver value through adoption of our smart building analytics software product. We are growing rapidly and looking for a Technical Account Manager (TAM) with a customer-first mentality that understands the value of cultivating relationships with our customers to drive business outcomes. You will engage with key decision-makers to drive product adoption and customer retention. You will work closely with our Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to manage the customer relationship and will support clients with our product's technical aspects. Experience in engineering, property management, commercial buildings, and/or commercial real estate property tech is highly desirable.

Cortex is a B2B company on a mission to help commercial real estate meet their decarbonization goals, today, tomorrow and 2030. We offer real estate an AI-driven solution that surfaces energy insights to drive capital investment planning, optimize operations, and reveal the path to achieving their decarbonization goals. Working with clients like Empire State Realty Trust, Savanna, Silverstein Properties, and RXR, in 2022, we helped save over 23k metric tons of CO2e – the equivalent of taking 13,000 cars off the road.
Key Responsibilities include:
Customer Support
- Provide technical support to Cortex customers post-sale through strong relationships and expert product knowledge to ensure customer success.
- Drive product adoption through direct engagement with customers and their vendors. This will include communicating with chief building engineers and maintenance staff, facilities managers, third-party controls vendors and engineering firms, and other relevant parties.
- Educate users on proper software application as well as highlight opportunities to leverage the software product to solve technical challenges in commercial real estate buildings.
Educate & Innovate
- Serve as domain expert for both external customers and internal parties.
- Employ domain expertise as well as product and customer knowledge to inform Cortex product strategy.
- Educate customers on industry best practices and strategies to improve building operations while reducing their environmental impact.
Onboarding & Results
- Coordinate and support the customer onboarding process.
- Assist Technical Integrations team to integrate the software product with customers' building management systems (BMS), utility meters, and other relevant systems and equipment.
- Collect relevant information and data, such as mechanical drawings and utility bill data, from customers to inform product integration and delivery.
- Provide reporting to key decision-makers to communicate the efficacy and value of the product.
Technical Sales
- Perform technical reviews of potential customer buildings to determine suitability of Cortex software solutions
- Aid Sales in addressing technical questions from potential customers and communicating the overall value of the Cortex platform
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in engineering, computer science, business, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant customer-facing experience managing multiple accounts
- Technical competency in one or more of the following areas: building mechanical systems, energy management, carbon management
- General knowledge in commercial office, property management, or facility management
- Ability to travel to meet with current and potential customers (
