The Staff Accountant III is responsible for executing daily and weekly accounts payable and receivable functions related to reserve accounting. This role involves reviewing incoming invoices, verifying data against contracts and expense policies, and reconciling reserve balances per contract stipulations. The accountant will manage a client portfolio, facilitate client communication, and ensure accurate reconciliations and contract reviews. Additional responsibilities include reconciliation ownership in Blackline, general ledger maintenance, and various administrative functions. Experience in tax administration and filing is required. The accountant will also assist the manager with ad hoc projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:

    • Review and process incoming invoices.
    • Verify invoice data against contract terms and company expense policies.
    • Reconcile reserve balances with contract stipulations.

  • Client Portfolio Management:

    • Manage a designated portfolio of clients.
    • Conduct regular client communication to address and resolve accounting issues.
    • Perform accurate and timely reconciliations and contract reviews.

  • Reconciliation and General Ledger:

    • Take ownership of reconciliation tasks in Blackline.
    • Maintain and update the general ledger.

  • Tax Administration:

    • Handle tax administration and filing processes.

  • Administrative Functions:

    • Perform various administrative duties as required.
    • Assist the accounting manager with ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certification: CPA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of [X] years of accounting experience.
    • Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable functions.
    • Experience with reserve accounting and contract review.
    • Familiarity with Blackline for reconciliation tasks.
    • Knowledge and experience in tax administration and filing.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Flexibility to assist with various projects as needed.
