First Steps Recovery is the Valley's leading substance abuse treatment provider for persons suffering from alcohol and/or substance use disorders. Our inpatient detox and residential treatment facilities in the Clovis, and the foothills 20 miles East, we provide a full continuum of care for those individuals searching for help.

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Transportation and Support Specialist in our comprehensive substance use treatment program. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide transportation services for new clients, assist in driving clients to appointments and outings, and transport medications and supplies. Additionally, the Transportation and Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting general operations through cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation Services:

    • Safely transport new clients to the program, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
    • Drive clients to scheduled appointments, outings, and other relevant destinations.
    • Coordinate transportation schedules to optimize efficiency and meet program needs.

  2. Medication and Supply Transport:

    • Ensure the timely and secure transportation of medications and supplies to designated locations.
    • Maintain accurate records of transported items, adhering to all safety protocols.

  3. Operational Support:

    • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of program facilities.
    • Assist in routine cleaning tasks and ensure a hygienic environment for clients.
    • Collaborate with the operations team to address maintenance needs promptly.

  4. Client Interaction:

    • Foster a supportive and respectful relationship with clients during transportation and other interactions.
    • Communicate effectively to address any concerns or special requirements of clients.

  5. Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and transportation regulations.
    • Stay informed about program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in transportation services is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of substance use treatment programs is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
