Cirrus is seeking a CAD Designer Co-Op in the Electrical Wiring Interconnect System team. This position will be part-time (20-24 hours per week) from January 2025 through August 2025.

Schedule

  • At least three days per week within Monday-Friday, flexible with your student's schedule.
  • Scheduled 20-24 hours per week.
  • There is an opportunity to work full-time during June-August.

This opportunity is located onsite in Duluth, MN (Corporate Headquarters and primary Engineering Innovation Center).

Job Summary

The primary focus of the CAD Designer Co-Op is to support the development of these new processes by investigating design solutions, having an eye for manufacturability, and understanding a broad scope of design issues. An engineering Designer is responsible for developing composite and metallic airframe, systems, and electrical designs and layouts. In this role, you will create models and detailed production drawings of components and assemblies using Creo Parametric. They need to be self-starting to dive in and work with multiple areas to find design solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Work directly with Engineering to complete design modifications, new designs, incorporate engineering change orders and release detailed drawing packages
  • Create and revise solid models and detailed drawings of complex components and assemblies using Creo Parametric
  • Manage, promote and release engineering data using Windchill PDMLink

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Current student in an Associate’s Degree for Engineering CAD Technology at Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN.
  • Current second year student who has completed coursework SolidWorks I and SolidWorks II.
  • Experience creating detailed design drawings of airframe structures, propulsion components and system components preferred
  • Strong understanding of top-down modeling principles and practices
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a cross functional organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience using Creo Parametric preferred
  • Experience using Windchill PDMLink preferred
  • Experience using Windchill BOM Objects preferred
