Our firefighters deliver this mission daily through control and suppression of hostile fires, pre-hospital EMS, Technical Rescue response and mitigation of hazardous material incidents. Fire District 3 is a growing and evolving organization serving diverse communities. We are looking for professionally motivated people to join a highly trained staff of career firefighters. We offer a dedicated training and development program focusing on our member's potential and drive to advance.

The District is home to the regional training grounds to develop and maintain the highest level of performance with our training tower, SIM house, live burn containers, confined space and rope rescue facilities and extrication pit.
We offer opportunities to join our Technical Rescue Team (High/Low Angle Rope, Swift Water, Extrication), participate in Acting in Capacity (AIC) development and promotional readiness, and assist and lead special projects and assignments.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION:
THIS IS A JOINT HIRING PROCESS - Candidates will have the option to apply with one application to the following agencies:
- Jackson County Fire District 5 - accepting qualified applications to establish a 2024-2025 Firefighter Register.
- Jackson County Fire District 3 - accepting qualified applications for vacant positions. District 3 will host a Fire Academy in March 2025.
Candidates will have the opportunity to be placed on two registers in this process. Fire District 3 and Fire District 5 registers will be certified in November.
Applications will be scored to evaluate skills, certifications and experience. Fire District 3 will assess qualified candidates and consider tenure, professional experience, and training and skills backgrounds in our selection and job offer process.

- Complete a FireTEAM test on NTN with a score of 70% or better - select Jackson County Fire District 3
- Complete the online application
Instructions for candidates applying for an opportunity to test for Fire District 3:
- Upload a current Oregon or National Registry EMT certification at the time of application
- Upload a current NFPA FF I at time of application or be prepared to submit it before February 2025.
- All other certifications will be requested at a later date in the hiring process.
