Hardwoods Unlimited is a well-established and growing, family-owned flooring company, on the lookout for a talented Administrative Assistant to join our team. This person will work to support the daily operations of the office. 

The ideal candidate will have proven customer service skills and maintain strong relationships with store personnel of all levels, while completing assigned tasks with accuracy and urgency. This person should possess strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communications, excellent organizational skills, the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and be confident using the Google platform including Sheets, Docs, and running a Google calendar. Experience in flooring or the construction industry is a definite plus. ​​​​​​A willingness to learn and grow to perform more specialized duties in time is an even bigger plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Field inbound communications - Answer phone calls/general email inquiries, manage showroom correspondence, and route to the appropriate internal parties as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling - Assist with entering and scheduling estimates using our flooring enterprise software system. Assist with scheduling customer installations.
  • Organize internal resources - Placing orders and assisting the accounting department with accounts receivable. Keep files and supplies organized and easily accessible. Assist with updating showroom pricing as needed.
  • Liaise with visitors - Act as point person for office guests. Assist the showroom retail sales professional with greeting customers, taking payments, directing and fielding customer questions, checking flooring samples in/out for customers, and act as backup for showroom retail sales professional when they are out of the office. 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • 1 year or more experience as an administrative assistant, secretary or receptionist preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Positive, high-energy attitude
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and problem-solving skill set
  • Familiarity with office equipment (i.e. computers, printers, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (especially Sheets and Docs)
