EVCI – Design Build Construction
Position Description:
The Master Electrician will oversee the Design Build Electric Car Charging Stations in a variety of regions. Will be responsible for maintaining day to day construction schedule for each project, resolving installation issues that may occur during construction/startup and day to day communications with the host site owners and car charging representatives. Must be able to troubleshoot and test of electrical equipment that will be encountered in the day-by-day operations.
Ability to travel between job sites daily is required. Work involves frequent overnight travel or longer as well as ability to work weekends/nights depending on project schedule or demands. Periodic, project related travel is to be expected (East Coast).
Primary Work Functions of This Position Include:
- Responsible for completing on site design walks with A&E firms for quick and accurate information, in a variety of locations.
- Complete scope of work details for subcontractors to bid.
- Proficient in reading electrical drawings for equipment installation.
- Must have a strong electrical background in commercial, industrial industry.
- Ability to identify proper power sources in a commercial, industrial environment.
- Responsible for preparing scope of works for projects, oversee contractors for the completion of the project and resolve installation issues that may occur during construction and start up.
- Responsible for completing local utility design walks.
- Maintain redline drawings and communicate to A&E firms.
- Responsible for punch list walks and completion.
- Must have good communications skills to deal with site hosts and car charger representatives.
- Ability to identify safety issues and rectify them immediately on the job site.
- Attend project team and construction meetings, as requested.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Prefer a minimum of 5 – 8 years’ experience in construction industry.
- Must have and retain Master/Journeyman electrical license.
- Must have and retain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles in states in which work is being performed and have an excellent driving record (both on and off road) as well as complete a criminal background screen, DOT physical exam and drug test.
- Must complete all required code courses and continuing education required for licensing.
- Completion of OSHA and other safety and on the job training, including effectively following those guidelines when completing construction.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to partner with others successfully.
- Ability to work independently, as well as work in a team environment.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and ability to thrive in an ever changing work environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
