Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide the Personal Insurance team in Hudson, including account managers, processing and support, ensuring adherence to policies, regulations, and agency culture.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new hires, and continuously update staff on coverage changes and procedures.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, addressing performance issues and providing support as needed.
  • Manage daily staff activities and schedules including branch location coverage.
  • Supervise the EVR room operations.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Track and manage new and lost business on a monthly basis, achieving new business goals.
  • Oversee Account Managers in selling profitable and high-quality new business.
  • Develop and refine standards and procedures to enhance efficiency, service quality, and compliance.
  • Assist with underwriting processes and ensure high standards of service.
  • Act as the agency’s liaison, solving account-specific issues and nurturing strong relationships with carriers.
  • Maintain profitable books of business and assist the Personal Insurance Manager with communication updates from companies.
Requirements:


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in agency management systems (e.g., EPIC) and Microsoft Office.
  • Deep understanding of insurance workflows, underwriting, and processing.
  • Ability to lead, instruct, and support staff effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building capabilities.

Experience and Education:

  • State Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
  • Professional designations (CPCU, CIC) preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an account manager in Personal Insurance.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in an insurance agency preferred.
  • Strong background in training and instructing insurance professionals is a plus.
