SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Specialist will report to the Quality Control Manager and be responsible for assisting in the development of remanufacturing/quality and service documentation as well as investigating warranty issues, preparing for audits, overseeing remanufacturing facilities, vendor assurance and attending safety/specialty services/management meetings.


The first several months, this position will be heavily involved on the shop floor, learning the different components and understanding processes and procedures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. As safety is RENEW’s top priority, you will be required to participate in safety training as it applies to your job-related duties.
  2. Responsible for assisting in building quality programs in our remanufacturing facilities.
  3. Verify remanufacturing/quality and service documents and practices.
  4. Create and store engineering reports, files, specifications, and databases.
  5. Emphasis on drive-train reliability and QC.
  6. Investigate customer warranty complaints.
  7. Meet ISO standards, report QA summaries, recordkeeping.
  8. Work with customer’s quality requirements and communicate to all RENEW employees affected by these requirements.
  9. Generate, recommend and implement procedures and systems for the efficient control of quality.
  10. Participate in technical reviews to ensure compliance to specifications.
  11. Use proper problem-solving techniques to ensure immediate action of poor quality.
  12. Open communication with supervisor and other RENEW employees. Ensure that adequate gauging and inspection instructions are provided to team.
  13. Work with RENEW’s safety department to develop and prepare all quality training programs.
  14. Work with RENEW’s engineering department in engineering projects as needed.
  15. Responsible for process control plans.
  16. Implement and facilitate Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  17. Manage, schedule and participate in the internal and external audit and inspections process.
  18. Ensure all tooling is within calibration and not damaged.
  19. Performing Non-Destructive Testing as required.
  20. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS / COMPETENCIES:

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:

  • Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience in quality, project management or program management with knowledge of remanufacturing equipment and principles.
  • Knowledge of gearbox design a plus.
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Self-starter with a drive for continuous improvement of the business operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments.


Specific physical requirements include:

  • Ability to climb ladders up to heights of 300 plus feet and work in restricted spaces with diverse environmental conditions.
  • Must not exceed 280 lbs. without gear on for safety of employee.
  • Ability to lift 80 pounds.
  • 25% Travel.
