What do we do at Holiday Barn Pet Resorts? We get the opportunity, every day, to care for, play with, and be an integral part of the lives of thousands of Richmond's pets and their families. We also offer fun, energized playgroups for dogs to enjoy through our Doggie Day Care. Our Pet Grooming department is "paw-excellence" as we provide pets with nice sudsy baths, pedicures, stylish haircuts, and anti-shedding treatments. Dogs who need some new manners or are looking to get a higher education can receive the professional training services of our personal pet trainers. Equally important, all Pack members at Holiday Barn work together for a common set of company values and mission of "Creating Joy in the lives of pets and their families."
What does the Events and Promotions Coordinator position look like at Holiday Barn? They must have a love for all things pets, but also a passion for linking Holiday Barn Pet Resorts to our community. The Events and Promotions Coordinator is our liaison for non-profit organizations, veterinarians, the local business community, and other pet related businesses. They develop internal and external promotional events along with supplying our "Pack" with all items supporting those events. Responsibilities also include planning, coordinating, staffing, and logistics for community events, as well as internal company events. Company events include company parties, "Fun Fridays" for pack members during the summer months, cook out days, Pack Leader meetings, and our annual Pack Leaders Retreat. The Events and Promotions Coordinator is always on the lookout for new and interesting ways to strengthen and promote the Holiday Barn brand. This position works closely with our Marketing Pack, Pack Leaders, Administrative Pack, and Head of the Pack in areas of brand awareness, marketing, promotions, and other supportive areas.
What qualities are we looking for in an Events and Promotions Coordinator? We are looking for someone who thrives on interacting with people and their pets, appreciates the value of the Holiday Barn brand, and who enjoys looking for growth opportunities for our company. Leadership skills are a must in our "pack" work environment; the Events and Promotions Coordinator must be able to work with both leadership and pack members. The Events and Promotions Coordinator should also be enthusiastic about Holiday Barn and is able to motivate our Pack to be "Furrmazing" in everything we do.
Some requirements for this position include:
- Flexibility: This is a Full-time 30-35hrs/week position. Hours and days vary, but weekend and evening availability is a must. The Events and Promotions Coordinator will be busiest representing Holiday Barn at community events during the Summer and Fall months.

- Experience working with Microsoft applications
- Prior experience in event planning preferred, but not required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time indoors and outdoors in varying types of weather
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Valid driver's license required
The Events and Promotions Coordinator is based at our Glen Allen location at 3800 Mountain Road but will also work on site at a variety of venues.
