Job Description

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer in the XP HVHP (High Voltage, High Power) division is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting production of high voltage DC power supplies.  Project management responsibilities will include managing project deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines. Design responsibilities include component selection, bread-boarding, testing, conducting experiments, problem solving, evaluating, and reporting results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design projects of new DC power supplies up to 500kV while adhering to published design and development guidelines.
  • Modify existing designs to meet customer needs.
  • Research and evaluation of new technologies and components.
  • Selection of raw materials, components, and suppliers based on product performance specifications, reliability, regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for completing project deliverables and communicating with stakeholders on timeline.
  • Parts derating analysis.
  • Perform failure analysis.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Oversee compliance and reliability testing of power supplies.
  • Sustaining support of existing designs including evaluation of components and processes
Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of power supply design and development experience.
  • DC High Voltage experience is desirable.
  • Strong analog and digital circuit analysis skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on with a variety of lab equipment and tools.
  • Programming experience (C, LabView, Matlab) is desirable
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (RS232, USB, Ethernet) is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
  • Able to work with closely with a global team of engineers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours on occasion.
  • Limited travel may be required.
