Camp Fire Alaska - Summer Camp Photographer


Position Description: 

The Summer Camp Photographer will work within the marketing department and is responsible for capturing Camp Fire summer programs in action through both photo and video. The Summer Camp Photographer ensures that photo and video files are uploaded, organized and accessible in a timely manner. This position also supports the Marketing Department's overall public relations, customer service and communication strategies. 


Program Logistics:

Work schedule: Monday- Friday 20-25 hours/week, typically between the hours of 7am - 6pm (schedule will vary week to week to meet the position needs. Each weeks schedule will generally be prepared one week prior.) 

Work Dates: May 2, 2024 - August 2, 2024

Location: Camp Fire Main Office (161 Klevin St. Sut. 100 Anchorage, AK), Camp Fireweed (APU campus), Summer Adventure Camp locations (Rogers Park, Denali, Loussac, Alpenglow) and Camp K (Cooper Landing, AK).  

Reports to: Marketing Manager

FLSA: Seasonal, Part-Time, non-exempt

Salary: $21.43 - $22.97/hour DOE


Position Overview: 

A summer camp photographer plays a key role in capturing camp magic. The experiences captured tell stories of lifelong memories, friendships and adventures.  You will work closely with the Marketing Department, providing high quality photo and video content to be used for promotional materials and social media campaigns.  

It is essential to have reliable transportation, as this position will primarily take place at various camp locations around Anchorage, Eagle River and Cooper Landing. The day to day of this position is very dynamic and flexibility is vital, as each weeks hours will vary to align with camp programming, field trips and special events. You must also be prepared to spend much of the day outside interacting with various groups including campers, staff, families and facilities.

We are looking for a confident, personable, and self-driven individual with a strong interest in working with youth, as photographer and camper dynamic is crucial for getting the best shots


Qualifications:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.

- Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation to travel to all camp locations. 

- Experience creating social media video formats, such as reels.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. 

- Photography and Videography experience with children, preferred.
