Job Summary:
As a Boat Finisher at Yellowfin Yachts, you will be responsible for adding the final aesthetic and functional touches to our boats. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will play a vital role in delivering boats that meet our exceptional quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
1. Surface Preparation: Prepare boat surfaces for finishing processes, including sanding, cleaning, and filling imperfections, to ensure a smooth and even foundation for paint, varnish, or other coatings.
2. Painting: Apply paint, gel coat, or other finishes to boat surfaces, ensuring precise color matching and consistent application, while considering environmental and safety factors.
3. Polishing and Buffing: Perform polishing and buffing techniques to achieve a high-gloss and flawless finish on boat surfaces, enhancing the boat's appearance and protection.
4. Detailing: Pay meticulous attention to detail while performing finishing tasks, ensuring that all areas, including corners, edges, and small components, receive proper finishing treatment.
5. Decal and Graphic Application: Apply decals, graphics, and other branding elements to boats with precision, following design guidelines and ensuring a professional look.
6. Final Inspection: Conduct a thorough visual inspection of finished boats, identifying and addressing any cosmetic or functional defects, and making necessary touch-ups.
7. Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of quality in all finishing processes, adhering to company guidelines and industry best practices.
8. Material Inventory: Manage and monitor inventory levels of finishing materials, including paints, solvents, and other supplies, ensuring a continuous workflow.
9. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines when working with finishing materials, ensuring a safe and hazard-free working environment.
10. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the Boat Assembly and Engineering teams to address any finishing-related issues and collaborate on process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training in boat finishing or related fields is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Boat Finisher or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your finishing work.
- In-depth knowledge of different finishing techniques, including painting, varnishing, polishing, and detailing.
- Familiarity with various types of finishing materials and their application on different boat surfaces.
