We are seeking a skilled Mass Tort Paralegal for a dynamic multi-state law firm specializing in asbestos, silica, and large pharmaceutical cases. This role involves managing complex litigation, utilizing Lexis File and Serve for document handling, and preparing cases for trial. The ideal candidate has extensive mass tort experience, a meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This hybrid/remote position offers flexibility with occasional presence required in the Bay Area office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of mass tort litigation, including asbestos, silica, and large pharmaceutical cases.
- Utilize Lexis File and Serve for filing and serving legal documents.
- Manage case files, organize evidence, and prepare for trial.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support cases.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses to gather necessary information and prepare for depositions and trials.
- Maintain accurate and detailed billing records to meet the annual billing expectation of 1500 hours.
- Manage and organize a high volume of pleadings and correspondence daily.
- Track and coordinate deadlines with multiple attorneys and paralegals.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher.
- 5+ years of mass tort experience, specifically in asbestos, silica, or large pharmaceutical litigation.
- Extensive knowledge of CA and federal court rules and filing requirements.
- Expert-level experience with Lexis File and Serve.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Superior organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to self-direct.
- Experience managing and organizing a large volume of litigation files (approximately 200 active cases).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Compensation:
- $100,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
