Stage 1 - Program Supervisor

Location: Los Angeles CA 90056 - 100% Onsite

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a Program Supervisor who will work with other members of the Stage 1 Leadership Team to develop quality control procedures to assure high quality services are delivered to DPSS District and GAIN Regional Offices, parents, providers and the general public. The position will directly supervise Stage One staff to ensure high quality; full services are available for CalWORKs clients. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the provision of Stage 1 Case Management Child Care Services.
  2. Implement performance standards and contract requirements.
  3. Participate in the overall planning and evaluation of program operations and client services.
  4. In conjunction with other members of the Stage 1 Leadership Team, develop quality control procedures to assure high quality services are delivered to DPSS District and GAIN Regional Offices, parents, providers and the general public.
  5. Directly supervise Program Specialists and Program Assistants, including performance evaluations, task-related support activities and disciplinary action.
  6. Work closely with designated representatives from other departments at Crystal Stairs to ensure high quality; full services are available for CalWORKs clients.
  7. Identify and facilitate training and staff development activities for assigned staff.
  8. Provide technical assistance to staff.
  9. Perform other tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • College degree or equivalent required; a graduate degree preferred. Years of relevant, verifiable work experience may be substituted for college level education.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required. Experience managing government contracts preferred.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding and/or experience working with CalWORKs and CCAP child care subsidy programs. Knowledge of funding terms and conditions of State and County programs helpful, but not required.
  • Must be results-driven with the proven ability to set and meet unit goals.
  • Requires ability to manage multiple complex projects and to acquire necessary resources to do so while exercising good independent judgment toward meeting agency and division objectives.
  • Requires excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Strong conceptual, analytic and judgment skills over tactical and strategic issues.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and multi-task priorities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible days and times to meet department deadlines as required.
  • Work under minimal supervision, make independent plans and organizes and prioritizes work following established procedures and guidelines. Determines priorities based on ongoing projects.
