The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of transmission distribution substation projects. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management within the energy sector, specifically in the construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution substations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk management strategies. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of project managers, engineers, and support staff. Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance management to ensure a high level of team performance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to address project requirements and challenges.
Financial Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues that could impact project timelines, costs, or quality.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of project delivery.
Performance Monitoring: Track project progress and performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Report on project status, progress, risks, and issues to senior management.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and implementing best practices across projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the energy sector, specifically in transmission and distribution substations.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding $10 million.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to transmission and distribution substations.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to travel as required to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
