Summary

The Second Shift Supervisor is primarily responsible for the nightly operations in the Sioux Falls Remanufacturing Shop and ensuring its overall quality. This position is very hands on in the shop and will report to the Remanufacturing Shop Manager.

This is an overnight position (current schedule is (3) 12-hour days.


Essential Functions

  • Oversee all nightly operations of the facility.
  • Working on various projects alongside shop technicians.
  • Review budgets and financial reports to ensure that P&Ls are met.
  • Manage the nightly workflow in the shop.
  • Ensure quality and safety are a top priority.
  • Create a lean and efficient workflow in the shop.
  • Work in tandem with Recruiting / HR on hiring and employee issues / concerns.
  • Work with QC to ensure all processes and procedures are being followed. Help develop if needed.
  • Participate in the development of long-term goals for the shop.
  • Work with QC on any warrant issues.
  • Ensure all technicians are up to date with safety and technical training.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES

To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should be able to demonstrate and provide the following:


  • Wind energy or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to utilize knowledge and experience to make key decisions that are in the best interest of the customer and the company.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Valid Driver’s License


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


This position is largely self-directed and requires an understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position operates in an office and field environment.


  • Full Time position
  • Overnight Shift (Currently (3) 12-hour days


Specific physical requirements include:


  • On feet for approximately 90% of the time while working
  • Regularly lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds and up to one hundred (100) pounds occasionally
  • Some travel occasional; possibly overnight at times
