Purpose of the Position
EO is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as the School Coordinator, Education + Emerging Workforce. In this role, you will be a part of the development and launch of Career Commons, a pioneering initiative that will revolutionize youth workforce development in our region. Career Commons will provide hands-on career learning experiences for youth of all ages, creating a unique and impactful approach to career exploration. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of interaction with school districts that include communication, development, and management to ensure expectations for attending are met to support all education and emerging workforce programs.
Areas of Responsibility:
School District/Student Management:
- Develop and lead the student engagement strategy for all education and emerging workforce programing including:
- developing relationships with school districts to increase awareness and gain program participation
- manage school district/educator/parent information and databases
- prepare and provide proper training to school districts/educators
- develop strategies to aid in the retention of school district participation
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Regularly communicate and prioritize and balance the needs of educators, employers, and volunteers, to align goals and create mutually beneficial working relationships.
Program Coordination:
- Adhere to standards of operation and logistical plans to support educational partners and students visiting Career Commons.
- Liaison with school districts on programming support
- Collect data and testimonials from educators/students during visits to Career Commons to enhance student experiences and support reporting on program impact and outcome reporting.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the department at EO
Requirements of the Position:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:
- A minimum of an associate’s degree or higher from an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- At least two (2) years or more of work experience, preferably in the education or non-profit sector.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with the launch of educational programs.
- Excellent project management skills: ability to balance multiple priorities with proven ability to anticipate challenges, solve problems, and maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
- Experience with caseload management, including regular communication, following up on tasks and monitoring progress.
- Experience building relationships with educational institutions and other partners.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Positive interactions with all school districts and all levels such as leadership, educators, students and parents.
- Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, Publisher).
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. High energy, outgoing personality and approachable positive attitude is required.
- Knowledge of the service area, including its strengths, culture, and challenges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collect and analyze data.
- A background in nonprofit management and/or youth education.
Residency and Travel – It is preferred that applicants reside in the service area and are available to attend early morning, evening, and/or weekend meetings on a periodic basis. They should also be able to travel independently.
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write briefs and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make compelling and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Reliable, high-speed home internet required.

Job Relationship - The School Coordinator, Education + Emerging Workforce reports to the Director, Education + Emerging Workforce. The School Coordinator must maintain an ongoing working relationship with other Coordinators, Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents level positions at EO.
