Role Purpose

EO is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual for the role of School Coordinator, Education + Emerging Workforce. This position is integral to the development and launch of Career Commons, a groundbreaking initiative designed to transform youth workforce development in our region. Career Commons will provide hands-on career learning experiences for youth, creating a unique approach to career exploration.

Key Responsibilities

School District and Student Management:

  • Design and implement a student engagement strategy for all education and emerging workforce programming.
  • Establish relationships with school districts to enhance awareness and participation in programs.
  • Manage information and databases related to school districts, educators, and parents.
  • Provide training and support to school districts and educators.
  • Develop strategies to retain school district participation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate regularly to balance the needs of educators, employers, and volunteers, fostering mutually beneficial relationships.

Program Coordination:

  • Follow operational standards and logistical plans to support educational partners and students visiting Career Commons.
  • Act as a liaison with school districts regarding programming support.
  • Gather data and testimonials from educators and students during visits to enhance experiences and support program impact reporting.
Additional Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned to support the department at EO.

Position Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of an associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience, preferably in the education or non-profit sector.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in launching educational programs.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience in caseload management, including regular communication and task monitoring.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with educational institutions and partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, Publisher).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a positive and approachable demeanor.
  • Knowledge of the service area, including its strengths and challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data analysis capabilities.
  • A background in non-profit management and/or youth education.

Residency and Travel: Preference for applicants residing in the service area, with availability for early morning, evening, and weekend meetings as needed. Independent travel is required.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Proficient in responding to sensitive inquiries and crafting compelling presentations.

Mathematical Skills: Competence in calculating figures and applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required. Reliable high-speed internet is also necessary.

Physical Demands: The role requires regular sitting, talking, and listening, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Relationship: The School Coordinator, Education + Emerging Workforce reports to the Director, Education + Emerging Workforce and maintains collaborative relationships with other coordinators, managers, directors, and vice presidents at EO.
