Job DescriptionJob Description

Our team is growing

We are currently looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to process payroll for a variety of clients. If you are a highly organized, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented person who enjoys working with numbers and information, this position may be a great fit for you No previous payroll experience is required - we'll teach you all you need to know.

Who is My Office Pro?

We are a small but fast-growing payroll company providing payroll and human capital management services for a variety of companies around the United States. Our mission is to deliver quality back-office and HR support to our clients - so they can focus on taking care of their employees and running their business. We know that our success depends on our team, so we offer competitive pay, profit-sharing bonuses, and a healthy work/life balance in our casual and collaborative office. We firmly believe that laughter in the workplace is important and healthy, so we take the time to have fun together even though we work hard.

A Day in the Life of an Payroll Specialist:

Working as a Payroll Specialist will give you the opportunity to work on payroll for a wide variety of businesses. You will spend your days gathering information, prioritizing time-sensitive tasks, entering and verifying data, and reviewing a number of payroll reports. While this position is not client-facing, you will work closely with other Payroll Specialists and our CSR team to ensure you receive everything needed to accurately complete all payrolls on time. This role does require at least eight weeks of training, but the training process is broken down into small pieces. Throughout training, you will learn through shadowing, the use of demo accounts, and working with assistance. Rest assured your Manager and Supervisor will support you every step of the way and provide feedback week-to-week on expectations and progress. Eventually you will be responsible for several payroll accounts and begin to work mostly independently each day.

What is Required to be an Payroll Specialist?

While we will teach you all the details for how to do the job, there are some skills and attributes that a Payroll Specialist will need to succeed in the role. We are looking for someone dependable, organized, and very detailed. Every client and payroll are a little different, so this position requires constant growth and openness to learning. Problem solving and critical thinking skills are an absolute must. The ideal candidate will be willing to use the resources available to them to troubleshoot issues independently - while also recognizing when they need to ask for additional help. Don't worry - our entire management team has an open-door policy for questions and suggestions and will be there to provide support whenever it is needed.

Hours, Pay, and Benefits

This position is in office, Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. If the work is completed on Friday, we do often get to leave a little early and get a head start on the weekend The initial hourly pay is $15 an hour. We believe our success should be shared with those that make it happen day-to-day, so we also pay quarterly bonuses based on company profits. Benefits include fully paid health, life, and long-term disability insurance for employees, contributions to a Health Savings Account on your behalf, 401k with match, and three weeks of PTO per year.

How to Apply

If this job sounds like the job for you, we encourage you to apply today The actual application process is not lengthy. Please answer the questions and submit your updated resume and a cover letter sharing a little information about yourself with us.
