Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary:The Mechanical/Robotics Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, and building robotic systems that are productive and safe to operate. With minimal supervision, the Mechanical/Robotics Engineer will create and debug computer programs used to run robotics systems, process sensor data, calibrate robots or approve robot designs. In addition, the Mechanical/Robotics Engineer will investigate field failures, identify spare parts requirements, and develop maintenance procedures for customer applications.Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Provides technical support and training to Sales representatives and customers on all robotic products;
  2. Utilizes Solidworks to create drawings and schematics for robotic systems;
  3. Utilizes robotic system software (HRSIM) to simulate robotic systems and develop applications;
  4. Builds and tests the robotic system's individual parts or the system as a whole, including articulated arm robots, grippers/end effectors, machine vision, electronic control systems, and application software;
  5. Performs feasibility analysis and lab testing of customer applications, supports prototype development and troubleshooting;
  6. Performs research and development for feasibility, design, and operation of robotic mechanisms, components or systems, and next-generation improvements;
Job Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  3. Self-starter with ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and properly prioritize activities;
  4. Proven ability to rapidly diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug problems in automated systems;
  5. Proven excellent math skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude;
  6. Excellent presentation skills;
  7. Working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on mechatronics;
  • Minimum 2+ years of work experience in the development and implementation of automation, robotic simulation, electrical design, programming, schematics, control system integration, and repair and analysis of electromechanical applications of automated machinery;
  • Understanding of and familiarity with industrial robot configurations and applications, including articulated arm, SCARA, semiconductor wafer handling, welding, and cartesian;
  • 2 years of experience using SolidWorks or with an equivalent software;
  • Proven work experience with AC & DC motor drives, programming (PLC & robot), servo motion control, robot simulation software, pneumatics, and safety PLCs and controllers.
