Post University currently offers the option to work remotely in this position. Candidates must plug their equipment into their home router (a 50-foot ethernet cable will be provided by Post). No wireless connections are supported. The home internet minimum requirements are a 25 Mb download speed, a 15 Mb upload speed, and a Ping rate of less than 60. The upload speed is essential for a consistent audio connection for the phone system. (Please use the link provided to test your home network speed www.speedtest.net.) Applicants may be asked to provide their speed test results during the screening process. Individuals whose home network speed does not meet the minimum requirements can independently contact their ISP to upgrade their service before moving forward.
Whenever working remotely, the candidate's home network must meet the minimum required speed and follow the hardware connection settings determined by their provisioned equipment and department role. Additionally, candidates must have a reliable Internet connection and a designated and private home office or alternative workspace free from noise or distractions.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
A New Student Success Advisor provides academic counseling to 250-350 undergraduate/graduate students of American Sentinel University so educational objectives are achieved.
DUTIES:
Work with students via phone or email on overcoming problems and/or issues that threaten their success in the university.
Upon enrolling, welcome students to the University immediately upon enrolling to help the students register for courses, explain the program, answer questions, discuss Orientation, and more.
Replies to student inquiries within 24 business hours and proactively reaches out about registration, course planning, participation, etc. to provide an exceptional student experience.
Provides guidance on academic completion, discusses best practices on time management, and coaches students on utilizing institutional resources.
Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about students through records, tests, emails, interviews, and professional resources to appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities, etc., for educational planning.
Compiles and studies educational information to provide guidance.
Assist students in making and carrying out their educational objectives.
Assist students with registration, book ordering, research techniques, and follow-up activities.
Assist in developing student resources
Performs other administrative duties as needed.

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor’s degree and one to two years experience in education, administration, marketing, and/or other customer-related services required;

- Must be results-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and work well under pressure;
- Works well independently and with a team;
- Takes initiative to complete tasks quickly and can troubleshoot student issues by utilizing multiple resources effectively;

The work environment and physical demands are characteristic of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, and typical for those working in an academic and/or office setting.
